New Baby, New Father. How to change a diaper - Step 4
Step 4: Closing the Deal So now that all the wipes and the dirty diaper is tied up in a smell proof bag, all that remains is to close the deal.
Apply any creams or powders (not both together) that have been chosen to guard against "nappy rash".
The clean diaper has Velcro or tape on the back part that is used to hold it in place around your baby's tummy. Don't do it up so tight that you restrict your baby's guts, but not so loose that it leaks at the first opportunity.
Wash & clean the changing table. Wash your hands.
No matter how good you feel about accomplishing the task and being a great 'modern' dad, never boast to your partner about what a great job you've done, otherwise you'll be volunteered for it more that you may wish. Remember, a baby can spoil the diapers several times an hour whilst awake...
So now you're a pro. Done it once, done it a thousand times eh?
Step 4: Closing the Deal
