During pregnancy, both men and women have periods of emotional ups and downs.

For women these can often alternate between fatigue, rejoicing in happiness, moments of depression and moments of longing or fears of losing the shape and beauty of youth.

For the man’s part, the emotions may vary from feelings of pride at having procreated a child, anxiety over the new financial responsibility (if he is the main bread winner), the jealous desire to provide protection to mother and new child or even the fear that she will lose the attractiveness and shape of her youth.

All of these mood changes in turn have a variable effect on the attitudes each has toward the other and on the sexual desires of both of you.  Without question, the most important thing is that you both share your thoughts and feelings as much as possible and as often as possible.

You will both need to make some slight adjustments to your normal patterns to enjoy fulfilled sexual relationships during pregnancy, but the “Tarzan” thing with the chandelier was losing its shine anyway…
