Q

I have had a miscarriage and luckily escaped a D&C, however b-HCG levels are still being tested in order to confirm that the miscarriage was complete. How long should it take for the level to return to normal?

A

The time it takes for your b-HCG levels to drop will depend only on your individual circumstances and your own internal system workings. Everyone produces hormone levels in a different manner depending on physiology.

What is important is that you and your Doctor continue to track b-HCG levels until they come down to an acceptably low level (less than 2 is often regarded as zero). It may be that the levels will drop rapidly or it may take several months, but so long as they are dropping then things are in a good direction.
