Baby's Development:

During this week, baby will open its mouth for the first time.

Salivary glands and vocal chord begin to form.  The eyes are completely formed, but the membrane that will be the lids keeps them covered still.

Hands and feet develop the quickest during this week.

Heart is beating at about 150 beats per minute.

Baby's Profile:        Size:       -  5.5 cm

                                  Weight:  -  10 g

Her Emotions:

You will have an appointment soon with the doctor.  It is best to write all of your questions down in the weeks before you go there, because for sure, you will forget everything as soon as you walk into the room.

Your uterus is about the size of a grapefruit by now.  You are getting bigger and need to buy new clothes, but remember, get something that is truly adjustable if possible and not just a bigger size, after all, its your stomach that is getting bigger, not your overall size!

His Emotions:

Her sexual appetite varies on a daily basis. You are trying to be patient but you have your needs too!

The hormone shifts throughout her body are enormously difficult to handle.  You don't only need patience, you also need to understand what is happening to her.

She will be feeling extremely tired.  It's an exhausting change that she is feeling and it may take another few weeks before she has any energy to last the day, let alone pander to your requirements.

In her mind, she's thinking about the changes that she will need to make over the next year.  In her body, she needs to deal with massive hormone changes that can cause extreme tiredness and exhaustion.  The last thing that she is thinking at the moment is "I wonder if he is sexually satisfied at the moment"?

Don't take it personally.  If she doesn't want sex with you, it's not because of YOU, it's all the other things that are weighing her down.  One woman I know described it as "Like I was climbing a mountain each day!"  Another described the fact that each day she discovered a new bit that ached or a pain in a location where she never realized she could feel anything before.

Take heart... She will feel much more able to deal with sex in a couple of weeks.  Alternatively, if you are one of the lucky ones, she maybe is extremely excited by her pregnancy and wants more sex that you've ever enjoyed before!  I can tell you, those hormones act in very strange ways...

Talk to her...   It's always the best approach.

Useful Information:

Eating cereal bars and bananas helps to keep energy levels up.  Eat more often (but smaller snacks) if you find that you are getting acidity rising or if you cannot handle a full plate of food.
