Baby's Development:

Baby can now hear sounds coming from outside the womb, but of course in a muffled manner. 

If a loud noise is made near the mother, the baby will raise its hands to cover it's ears.  It can even jump in the stomach or bury itself to hide from the noise.

He/she moves most of the time now and gives lots of punches and kicks with the hands and feet...  You should almost certainly feel it this week if you haven't up to now.

Chest muscles develop further to allow breathing when born.

The small cavities that will become fully working lungs begin to develop more rapidly into the final product.

Her Emotions:

Coming up to half way through!  Keep up the exercises and stay away from excessive alcohol.

Your stomach itches like hell because of the expanding skin... more of that anti-stretch-mark cream is called for.

Your areolae (dark rings around your nipples) may begin to expand.  This is normal and they can stay like this until well after the birth.

His Emotions:

The strange food cravings can begin about now, so don't be surprised if she demands a bowl of corn-flakes soaked in chicken-soup and honey at one o'clock in the morning.

Useful Information:

Try to concentrate on the difficult jobs during this period.  You will not have a good state of mind (or body) to move house in a short while.

Keep the workouts up but keep them light.  Don't overexert yourself.
